On Hearing Your Voice

A soft muslin drawl
of petals
gifted themselves
to my ears.
Pale pink.
Your words fell,
pendular,
 and as I,
messianically,
raised my arms
in slow-mo,
your sentences
arranged themselves
like small children
at my feet.
