Life, love and being
The absurdity of it
The quantum beauty
We tend to neglect
The corners of loves garden
We neglect to tend
They said I was lost
Then found
Like the rumours
I remain unfounded
Have nothing to say?
Well, say it beautifully
Or just say nothing
O! The syllables
And the superfluous words
In this, this haiku
Books huddled for warmth
The forgotten and unread
Telling their own tales
When there are no words
That’s when the poets step in
To birth the newborns
“Like the rumours
I remain unfounded”
Very cool.
Viva the poets! 🙂
I like the idea that when there are no words, that’s when poets step in. I think you are right there. Poets are good at finding the meaning BETWEEN the words.
I was thinking about the last stanza and then saw Mary’s comment, which left me wondering; do poets find meaning between the words, or do we invite our readers to find meanings between our words? Red wheel barrows come to mind – again …
I am happy for readers to find meanings I didn’t realise in a piece, happier still when they seem to understand what I’m banging on about. And clichĂ© though it is, it’s in the spaces and the unsaids wher much meaning lies.
And so much depends on… Lol!
We tend to neglect
The corners of loves garden
We neglect to tend
Love the word play throughout. Maybe poets find meaning between the words of others (case in point this comment wall). However this poem finds meaning between the first and third lines almost every time! Again, great poem
I often have the desire to read between the lines and I think poets have a way of
conveying a message but, I often wonder who is reading the full story…
It’s true, THAT IS when the poet steps in. Just like you did.
Nicely done.
I admire your work. Wow.!
Been trying to follow your work on your blogspot site , but can’t find how… Some really good stuff there…
What a fab last stanza, marvellous
“Have nothing to say?
Well, say it beautifully
Or just say nothing”
and I agree with the last stanza
it’s rare the words a poet writes
aren’t deeper than face value.
causing the reader to find their own meaning;
their own words
