The Look of Love

Scientists have established
that the experiencing of highly charged emotion by humans,
translates through an as yet unknown osmotic process,
causing atomic particles in the immediate vicinity
to doubt their own existence and quiver
in an erratic fashion, giving the appearance of blurring,
and in extreme circumstances, opacity and invisibility.

In laboratory tests,
parents shown pictures of their children
caused the photographs to develop rosy gauze filters;

a school of Buddhists,
having achieved Nirvana caused the temporary
disappearance of several small universes;

and in breaking news,
a poet on the south-side of glasgow,
on looking up from his writing
and seeing his wife sat across from him,
saw his latest piece evaporate to nothingne
