Microponderings 8.- weathering

Even when it rains
Most of the sky
Isn’t raining

Billions of raindrops
Fall alike in direction
Yet I have no brothers

Bare revelations
All entrances uncovered
Courtesy winter

Clouds swollen with thirst
Bellies burst in a downpour
Caesarian rain

Pastel lemon sunset
The sun dropped like a boiled sweet
Back into the bag

The estranged snow
Arrived Thursday
Breaking all
Visitation rules

Fleckless light
Contrasting suns
Outbrighting each other

The whispering breeze
Give sibilant cypresses
Sweet susurration

  1. My favorite line here: The sun dropped like a boiled sweet back into the bag
How perfect an image!! I will go and sit on the west-facing beach this evening and wait, listening for the plop and scrunch of sweet density upon crisp brown paper.
