Fly boy

When walking walls,
and wavering fingertips

extend and plane and teeter,

and young shorts-worn legs
breeze cold and flutter in pretend flight.

The sandals land.

Each step seeks grip
but hesitantly encounters moss or lichens

green-fingered velvet nap,

feels the slippiness underfoot.
Transmitting green fear tumbling earthwards.
