Pieta

She laid ivory
gloves of the thinnest skin,
limply
in his upturned palm,
a plinth
for two exquisitely dying swans,

or a pieta
where the body of Christ
has transubstantiated
to two,
languorously
cold,
white, lily leaves.

  1. beautiful imagery man…the pieta is one of the art pieces of michaelangelo’s that we teach our students in high school…a delicate touch in this…nice on the lily leaves there in the end as well…
