Pre-feel of the Storm

Pre-feel of the storm

Electrified air.

A shiver of trees
waiting for the i-told-you-so
of a cloudburst.

A bellyful of rain.

I want all this.

(When I first asked you out, those years ago)

The watering, the growth,

I know what I’m waiting for.
