On Edge

Boundaries

do not blur

or get edgy

but in an important sense

just are not there.

Everything is fluid

and undecided until observation.

It’s not uncertain.

It’s the way it is.

There are pulls and pushes-

Attractions, repellents.

But these are all internal events.

Nothing else.

  1. “But all of these are internal events / Nothing else” Thank you so much Brian for imparting more of your deep, poetic wisdom. For me your whole poem reverberates with the tension of the opposites. Such strong finishing lines, well crafted. Warm wishes, Deborah.

  2. Very provocative! I wonder how different the world would be today if Moses had not carved his edgy internal events in stone, thereby damming up the flow….. would civilization be as bi-polar as it is now?
